LADIES & GENTLEMEN - LOCK/LOAD/CHALLENGE

OK Gentlemen - We hope you're ready. The Ladies have been practicing and you have no idea how good they have become. You may want to think twice about coming to this event. We certainly would not want the Ladies to embarrass you.

We will meet at Bob's Evans Restaurant on the corner of Ulmerton and 34th Street for a little lunch at 11:30AM. Then, we will drive 2 blocks to the Wyoming Antelope Club at 12:30PM. Mike Smith, President of the club, has arranged a special offer for Pinellas Patriots. The shooting fee is $10.00 per person and that is for as long as we want to stay. No more in and out in one hour. They will have up to three Range Officers for our group and we will have an entire bay all to ourselves.

Be sure and bring your glasses, ear muffs, ammo and guns. YOU CANNOT PURCHASE AMMO AT THE RANGE.

There will be a prize for the best Lady Shooter and the best Gentleman Shooter. Then, we will have an extra special prize for the best overall shooter.

So, everyone, better get out and practice, practice, practice.

Thank you Tom. We just may have a few "first timers" and it is so helpful to them to try out different guns. That's how I knew what to buy for myself. Everyone was so generous with letting me try theirs until I found the perfect one for me.

Spoke with "Bob" at the restaurant. There won't be any problem with all of us showing up there about 11:30. They can't give us a room but he said they should be able to seat all of us throughout the restaurant and get us out quickly for the 12:30 Event at WAC.

Jerry: We have the Multi-Purpose Bay reserved from 12:30 - 4:00.
It will easily accommodate all of us. We'll practice for a while and when all are ready, we will have our Challenge. We'll bring bottled water for everyone but feel free to bring something cold to drink
in case it gets really hot. The pace will be slow and easy. We have a few first time shooters joining us and I know we'll all help out.

Rifle shooters might have to go to another range. That multi-purpose range is generally used for close up shooting, like most of us seem to want to try. A rifle at 100 yards, for example, that would be a different range.

I would be happy to help with new shooters, especially if they are concerned about recoil and such.

Cold drinks does not include alcohol. (Some asked me.)
No one shoots on those ranges after having a beer or any other alcohol.

If there is someone who does not have a firearm, I will bring a .22 for them to use and lots .22 of ammunition. (Far cheaper than .38 ammo.) Will have it with me anyway.

We will only be at the Pistol Range on Sunday. No rifles. We can plan a Rifle Event some other time if there is enough interest.

To the ladies: notice below how kind, generous and caring the gentlemen are being. Don't let this fool ya - they are just trying to butter us up for the kill. But, the Challenge is OURS. Watch out gentlemen!

Rain may come, but the handgun ranges at WAC are covered.
Fear not, your powder will remain dry.
Do bring a bottle of water to keep the body hydrated, though.

A special Thank You to Wyoming Antelope Club for all the effort they put into this event for Pinellas Patriots. They were incredible! I think we had as many Range Officers as we had participants. They patiently gave such wonderful advice and instructions and I think a good time was had by all. We'll be back - if they'll have us.

It was hot, hot, hot - but so were the shooters. All did a great job. Congratulations to Matt and Terry - our two winners. And to our first timer Dawn, congratulations to you as well. You did super. Thank you to all the members who came out for the event - it is great spending time with all of you. Let me know if a rematch is in order and we'll plan it when Matt is on vacation!

If we could rate this higher I would. Thanks to all the Range Officers for donating your time. Also to the Pinellas Patriots organizers for all your hard work putting this together. We will be returning to Wyoming Antelope Club in the future for practice which I realize I need lots of.
