Voices of America will offer two sessions...one in the afternoon and one in the evening to accommodate as many organizers as possible. For more information about how the non-partisan precinct training works go to their website at: www.thevoicesofamerica.org The training will include everything from how to organize and strategize effectively to how to recruit like-minded citizens for specifc precincts using robocalls. An Itinerary of the training will be posted when it is available.
Kimberly Fletcher will also present the The Abigail Adams Project and how it works. The Abigail Adams Project is currently designing a website that will include candidate information all the way down to the local races. The website can be utilized for printing out non-partisan voter guides for every precinct to be used for precinct walks in neighborhoods. These guides will especially be useful for precinct walks with a focus on Independents or Democrats that voted Republican until the 2008 Presidential Election. The guides can also be used at the polls because they will not have the party afiliation noted. The Major Parties are not able to do anything until after the Primary so this training will enable us to educate the voters prior to the primaries. The questions for vetting the candidates national, state and local are being created and the final survey will be available at this training.
In addition, Voices of America will offer a training session on How to Host a Candidate Forum at 10:00 AM on May 7th. Below is a tentative schedule:
